​We have all heard the saying "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." I am sure that you can think back to a day, a month, or even all of 2020 when you felt like life was just sending you lemon after lemon.
 
When we focus more on what is going wrong around us, we can quickly forget to see the what truly brings us joy in our own lives and sharing joy with others. Whether it is taking time to be grateful for what you have each morning, showing appreciation to a friend or co-worker, or doing a random act of kindness for a stranger - we can all make an impact and bring more joy to the world.

CREATE JOY IN YOUR LIFE

There are many ways to create joy for others, but have you considered what you can do to create joy in your own life?
Here are just a few ways you can begin to create joy daily. 
1. Set Goals | Goals provide us with purpose and build a sense of accomplishment. Whether setting a goal to make your bed every morning or reaching your education objective, set those goals and get after them!

2. Make Time for You | In a chaotic world, it is easy to get lost in the busy. Make some time for yourself and be intentional about that time. Yes, you can rewatch another season of The Office, but consider doing something that positively impacts your soul and mind - at-home spa time, Yoga or mediation, finishing that book that has been on your nightstand, or learning a new hobby.

3. Declutter Your Life | This is more than just cleaning out your closet or organizing your garage. This is decluttering your mind, heart, and life of negativity, self-doubt, and time wasters. Things that we can easily trap us. Start by considering to delegate out things you don't like doing, limiting your time on technology, or knocking off some of those to-do items that have been on the list for some time. 

4. Create Experiences  | Travel to an unforgettable place, plan a hike / camping trip, or host a group game night with friends. Each experience in your life creates a special memory, allowing you and others to reminisce on a time of wonder, fun, or connection. 

5. Be Active | In a world of streaming and technology, it is easy to get lost in the couch or focused-in on work past your 40-hours. Don't underestimate the power of being active and the joy it can bring. It doesn't matter if you run, bike, walk your dogs, or just clean your home. Use the time in your day for moving your body and accomplishing your to-do list.
